Well, I don't know how else to title this, and I do assume it's a problem with my graphics...
Allright, first, I play CoD 4 on an iMac (Late 2007 model), and it runs fine...
my current settings (and I didn't change anything since the problem)
GraphicsTexture Settings
- Video Mode: Highest possible (1680xSOMETHING)
- Screen Refresh Rate: 60Hz
- Aspect Ratio: Auto
- Anti-Aliasing: OFF
- Brightness: Not relevant I guess
- Sync every frame: No
- Shadows: No
- Specular Map: Yes
- Depth of Field: No
- Glow: No
- Number of Dynamic Lights: Normal
- Soften Smoke Edges: No
- Ragdoll: Yes
- Bullet Impacts: Yes
- Model Detail: Normal
- Water Detail: Normal
- Texture Filtering: Automatic
- Anisotropic Filtering: (slider all the way to the left)
- Texture Quality: manual
- Texture resolution: high
- normal map resolution: high
- Specular map Resolution: High
I also changed with console: /cg_fov 80 and /com_maxfps 150
I don't think other settings are relevant...
Anyway so here's the problem
Take a map like Broadcast, you all know there's tons of televisions and photo frames on the map. When shooting these they respectively explode or fall on the ground...
Now, this stopped working...
The first time it happened, I don't know why. I tried changing some texture settings, some graphic settings but to no avail... I then created a new profile where it did work!. I then just decided to drop my other profile, and start over with the new one...
Now the problem happened again, and I think to have narrowed it down: I joined the FPS Promod server, and that's when it started not working again... So my guess is that Promod changes some (otherwise not change-able) settings, and they don't revert when quitting the server, instead they carry over for any other server you play...
I also tried resetting to optimal settings, but that didn't work either...
Anyone knows what's going on here? Is there some setting I have to "reactivate" in console, or delete something...? I'm clueless...
