Thread: Certain COD4 Maps Won't Load

Yesterday my aging (and constantly crashing) ati 9800se finally died... so for about another 15 days I can only play cod on my dad's pc. so today I installed it patched it up to 1.7 and started playing. worked fine for vacant and crash but on all the other maps (strike, ambush, crossfire, broadcast, etc...) it wouldn't load the map past about 10% (the game would have an error), I tried reinstalling the game and the patches numerous times but it still won't work any1 have any ideas? (yes i tried google but only found questions no solutions). It's not such a big deal as I'll have my new pc running soon but it's kinda annoying if I want to have a lan party and need to use my dad's pc. So if you know a fix for this it would be appreciated. (I'm pretty sure it's only the new maps that won't load(as opposed to the stock maps u have before patching))

nah, already got an entirely new pc, just waiting on the psu. Phenom ii x4 940 3ghz(gonna oc to 3.5 or 4) and a xfx radeon hd 4870 1gb gddr5... so im gonna give the pc with the dead grafix 2 my little bro and if he wants he can buy a new card for 40$ and i'll install it for him. the problem i'm having is with my dad's pc, he's got an nvidia quadro 560.

and there's no fucking way i'm buying a grafix card in israel. a 40$card in the states can cost here easily 500nis (about 100$)

nice melas only reason i'm building such a high end system is b/c the last few years iv'e been using a P4 hyperthreaded@ 3.2ghz a glitchy ati radeon 9800se 1.7gb of ram and a 120gb hd so i spent a lot of time researching the best system for my money and i'm spending about 800usd on:

total 734$ and i'm preordering mw2 for another 60$ so it comes out almost 800$

so it's gonna be a sick pc for under 800usd i'm gonna triple boot Win7, Mac OS X(atm i'm installing on my pc i'll post screens if it works), and either Ubuntu, Knoppix, or Slackware.

btw isnt the 6200 an agp card? if so how did u replace it with a 9800 (nice card btw considered it for a bit but decided on the 4870)

Hackintosh wouldn't work on my pc (the crappy grafix card i found to replace the dead one isn't supported) but I managed to get it working perfectly on my dad's pc i'll post some screens later.
