Thread: Why not make it public?

Hello FPS community,

at first I want to say that I please you to not take that thread mad, cause I want to discuss in a normal way. I am not angry or so, just wanted you to know.



The reason why I am writing here is my ban.
For those who don't know the story why I got (accidently) banned:
I was playing under my nick "WhatchaSay?". Rounds were good, had a lot of fun. Then in crash a hacker connected, who stole my name. So there were two "WhatchaSay?"s. Me the not hacking and the guy using an aimbot. Everyone said "Kick the hacker" (me included).
So Matt banned the wrong (ME). I was kinda shocked and didnt take it mad cause I expected that it was an accident.

I instantly wrote to Matt in xfire then and told him he kicked the wrong guy (I don't want to give him the blame - how could he know?). He told me to make a ban appeal so.

I've written the appeal and wrote the story you've read above there. (the first ban appeal failed because I forgot inclduing my GUID.)
The second appeal was answered within a few days.
The answer was that they/you can't/don't want to unban me, because my GUID is PBBanned.

So here it goes.
I f*cking hate PB for banning me for a ehm.. "hack".
I registered on GGC-stream.com so and asked why I was banned. One german member there told me to fill in a PBBan ban appeal.
I did so, and waited. The answer came pretty soon. The guy there was sorry that they won't unban me, because I "was using a hack".
I was totally pissed off then!

Since I didn't want to quit COD4 (I got it months before only) I tried playing on non-PB servers. That really wasnt easy but after a time I was used to it, even joined a clan (|666|) with a high visited pub TDM server. But it closed this winter.
Then I found your server about December 09, and I was impressed that pretty good players were playing on a non PB server in S&D. No noob perks (I was used to 666 server that at least 60% used Marty) and high skills. That was cool . And the most important advance: Guys did not cheat! And if yes, an admin was always there and banned the idiot.

Why don't you want to let me play on your server just because I am (by mistake) PBBanned?
You know that I do not use hacks!



My deal:
What about a temporary ban?
Let's say one month? Until Feb. 26th 2010?

That would be very kind of you.

If you really decide to let me banned forever (although I didn't do anything on your server), I will have to think about quitting to play COD4. Other non-PB servers suck, lag, and are mostly empty.

OK, just to respond to this. It was not one admins decision. It was ALL the admins, and it was for multiple reasons. And to say that other non-pb servers lag is against the point- PB LAGS that is the reason we dont have PB. And im sorry but PB doesnt mistake ban you. Unless it was a person on the server who PB-Banned you...you wouldnt have a problem. So i'm sorry.

Decision is final. We don't want dodgy players on our servers. To offer a fair game for everybody this is the only way.

i like this reject guy already. Making sports references to people who cry when they are banned in video games. loving it.

Why multiple reasons?
Tell me please?

1. PBBANS
2. You admitted to being banned once before (PB)
3. If you hadnt been PB banned you probably wouldve gotten unbanned.
4. we dont unban hackers
5. a hacker is a hacker (this statement was reinforced with Melas.)
6. Sorry if PB squrewed with you.
7. If you were banned on PB, and didnt hack, why not get a new CD key...for like 6$...and use that then if you actualy dont hack. you never worry about being banned again.

I got a new one already after about 2 weeks I got banned. Still didn't work!

Ehm, why do you care about PB Bans when your server doesn't run PB? As long as I do not use cheats on your server, you shouldn't care.

Its not just about our server. Cheating is way to big in Cod4, if we suspect you of cheating or being a cheat, for legitimate evidence (PBBans, PunkBusted, etc..) we will ban you.

Obviously we cannot check everybody in our server for cheating in the past, but you were unlucky enough to get banned.

We run our own anti-cheat system, ourselves, and although we don't stream to PBBans or run PunkBuster, I do not see why we should not use these tools to make our lives easier. That must be, partly the reason they are there.

And what is to stop you hacking when there is no admins on?

PBBans/ PunkBuster doesn't, or extremely rarely bans for a wrong reason. You hacked. You got caught. Period.
