okay so I read this article (and a few others too)

I believe it's utter bullshit to blame (shooter) games in general. First of all the guy has real military training (mandatory military duty in norway) and is in a shooting club.

I've been playing Call of duty since about 2 or 3 years, honestly, give me a real gun, i'd still not have a clue how to correctly shoot it. Yeah sure I MIGHT recognize WHAT gun it is, still I don't believe playing this game actually helped me to aim at all. Playing the game itself has surely never taught me any military operations training either. if there'd be one thing I learned from Call of Duty is this: I can stand in the middle of a street with 15 enemies in front of me, I can still eat 5 bullets and just live because my health refills.

oh, that and also I can just jump out of windows and keep running

Its ridiculous how they can blame it all on shooter games , they tried to blame the columbine shootings on Doom 3 which is completely retarded , these people do it for a reason not because they learnt from a game , and like you said he was part of a shooting club and has had military training.

Using modernwarfare 2 to Learn????? I ask how do you learn?
Execpt what galak said about the names of guns. For example in real life, you will probably never come across an m16 which fires 3 burst rounds.... Or people who can jump higher, run faster, have non-breaking bones.. (the list goes on)

It is not realistic in the slightest so how can you simulate it?
Unless he mapped the target locations and played through his own maps on pc?? Which im pretty sure this would not be modernwarfare 2's fault, and anyway im not completely but pretty sure there are no mapping tools for MW2.

not even to mention if you fire a gun for the first time you will get a big surprise. mass, recoil, sound and pain (depending on your grip and caliber)

as a hunter I can honestly say to ever aim at a person/animal (for fun / revenge / w/e) you must have royal fucked mindset.
that is something must be wrong in your brain to make you do it

only way you can ever justify killing anything is to save life (self defense); for food and for conservation

I simply follow the jungle law: only kill to eat or to stop one from getting eaten

but that is just my viewpoint and I handle guns regularly and play cod and other "killing" and murder games I have never raised a weapon to anybody/ thing withought a good cause.

I say blame anything that makes you feel better but you might be doing wrong then as I know of mass murderers that has never played a shooter game or listened to metal (slipknot killings)

so someone / thing to blame must be parents/close friends etc. people in your direct enviroment imho
