    Fpsoverload Folding@home team

well i have been folding on my ps3 a while and thought a gaming community like ours has a lot of processing power so i decided to create a folding at home team so that others may benefit form our wasted CPU and GPU processing power

the download link for F@H is:
    Folding@home - Download the Folding@home software application

when you start preferences should come up and it will have a space for team number

our team number is: [201697] no brackets

and our team statistics page is here:
    Folding@Home

just thought it might be a good idea for the community to take part in.

and for those who are thinking i don't want this program to take away my fps and make me lag folding at home can be closed easily when u want to forget about being part of a supercluster for research and just want to get down to your gaming

well by tomorrow i should have my 3 computers folding and my ps3 when its repaired so i hope to see you joining the team and,

    HAPPY FOLDING

also if mod privileged people think this is a good idea sticky it?

    folding at home

You can help scientists studying these diseases by simply running a piece of software.

Folding@home is a distributed computing project
-- people from throughout the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer takes the project closer to our goals. Folding@home uses novel computational methods coupled to distributed computing, to simulate problems millions of times more challenging than previously achieved.

Protein folding is linked to disease, such as Alzheimer's, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers
Moreover, when proteins do not fold correctly (i.e. "misfold"), there can be serious consequences, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes.

    What is protein folding?
Proteins are biology's workhorses -- its "nanomachines." Before proteins can carry out these important functions, they assemble themselves, or "fold." The process of protein folding, while critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology, in many ways remains a mystery

What have we done so far?
We have had several successes. You can read about them on our Science page, on our Awards page, or go directly to our Results page.

Click on the links on the left for downloads or more information. You can also download our Executive Summary, which is a PDF suitable for distribution. One can also help by donating funds to the project, via Stanford University.

allright so if I get it right, this program wants to use a network of litterally MILLIONS of computers to create a "Super-uber-mega-computer"?

my CPU is maxed out at 100% nonstop now
