Agree with qup, we are all know how to discuss in fair ways without flaming and swearing, that's the feeling i get reading this thread.

In Germany is a big trouble about a guy who wrote a book integration of muslim foreigner. It's going through the whole media. The consequence is everybody needs to think about it some day. We are all sittin' in one big boat and sailing together in the present. Religion hot or not, the question is how religions fit into the age of technologies. In mathematics you would say religion is indirect-proportional to the technological progress. In my opinion religion isn't bad, as long as it doesn't cause political, cultural oder social problems.

To my understanding, agnostic means you believe all things science can not explain are supernatural or something like that

I'm an Atheist myself, so I find all religion pointless. When I go to a church as a tourist and I see people pray it's like watching crazy people talk to themselves. This is not flaming, this is what I think, of course I understand them. It's nice to be calm about the future, that there is some goal for your life, some guidelines written that you can follow.

I myself make my own guidelines, but I have no goal in life, and all I have is a sure ending, and becoming nothing.
So I just try to enjoy the ride, which is kind of hard if you see no point in life. I guess that's why I play games, to switch my mind off.

I am also a Nationalist, so if I lived in Germany I would put the Turks back on a plane and send them home if they don't want to integrate.

Hmm... I hope you won't take that wrongly, I don't hate people, but they have to make sacrifices the same way as the people around them if they want to live together. Learning the language of the country and tolerating each others religion is the minimum step.

This is the point in germany where everything is fokused @ WW2. If you criticise foreigner in germany, in 8 of 10 cases you will be sweared as a racist. So it happend to the autor of the book i told. If you criticise a religion, this happens too. This is silly and some kind of sad. In germany are some streams on the run, especially in university-circles, which could blow up next years. Nobody says something about people who live their religion in borders which are given by the government and/or the society.

@Cabry: agnostic means you that answer at the question 'is there a god?' >i don't know, it isn't able to prove< . Neither you say there is one nor you say there is none. In addition to that as an agnostic you say it is unknowable to get an answer (Y/N) for this question.

Nah that's wrong, as an atheist i deny religions and their believe in god. as an agnostic i say it is not provable to get an answer about the existence of god. So it isn't paradox.

Seriously, i know the answer cause gods are fantasy written down in bible and other basical, religional scripts. But maybe there is one, but you can't prove it... and this is agnostic.

Agnosticism has exited as far as the Roman world (as far as I know, my personal opinion is agnosticism has existed since the dawn of religion anyway). The kind of agnosticism you're referring to probably exists tho

Ya see, it's weird :p you got the definition of agnosticism right, but still you say a major contradiction.

The only fact you are even considering there MIGHT be something is agnosticism. An atheist will never ever think this. An atheist "believes" this is it, this life is all we get, once you're dead there's nothing after it. If there's only a tiny fraction of you thinking "but their MIGHT be something", then it's agnosticism

What I understand from what you say, you just don't believe any of the current major religions (christians, islamic etc.) have it right. but like you say yourself, you still have an agnostic vision that there might be something out there. Atheism doesn't just mean to disagree with the major religions

    Hence, you're agnostic. not atheist

You're right, but i don't say there might be a god, that was just the explanation for cabry. i say it is not provable something is out there. I say there is nothing outside, too. You can't prove something is outside there, because they are just written down fantasy. Agnosticism and atheism have a really unclear borders. There's a gray area between both. in the end, nobody of us is right or wrong.

I´m also Atheist, because if there was any god, he/she/it doesn´t do very nice ...
I made my own philosophie out of some different opinions from astrologists and stuff:
I think that at the real beginning there was just energy, and because energy has to change
to another energy (like if u drive a car, electricity is used to move the car, and then because u drive
batterie increases energy and so one ...) this energy made the first hydrogen and then molecules.
These molecules then were so fast, that protones left one atom and went to another, so that there was the first helium and so one ...
But this is just how the first step, because then this molecules made first planets and stuff ...
and i think the big bang of the earth was not the first one ...
if i wrote too much just say, if u wanna hear more, ask me
