    cod4 help old rig..!

    Hello everyone im new too this so bear with me,
    ive resently brought a new graphics card its a ah4650 (agp version) for my p4p800-vm motherboard
    and what it is is that my gamplay isnt as smooth as it should be im stuck for ideas of what too do to make it right any help will be greatful, michael.

    MY specs:p4 2.8 prescott (runnin in an 3.4 ghz cpu cooler)
    p4p800-vm motherboard
    4x512mb = 2gb corsair pc3200 ram running at 333mhz
    asus ah4650 1g/ddr2/800mem/600core/128bit
    400 watt power
    windows xp sp3

    Simple question, but have you got the drivers for your graphics card installed?

    hello blunks and thankyou for the welcome..., Now you see thats were i think im having the trouble..ive installed the the driver that came with the card but its not digitly signd or sumink but i go continue anyway reboot and i have no CCC none wat so eva until i install the hotfix of the ati website for the agp 4600 series, reboot, and i have CCC but it still seems choppie even in cs 1.6 what am i doin wrong.. what drivers should you reckon i should use..? thx in advance for the help.

    Have a look here for an up to date driver

    ATI Driver Downloads - PC Pitstop Driver Library

    CD drivers are normally old and out dated. But im not very sure with ati and amd, I have never used them.

    recommend getting the lastest Catalyst contol center and lastest catalyst drivers if it may be proformance of the card CCC allows A small bit of gfx card overclocking

    cheers blunks for the site im just not sure how too install the drivers im not uest to ati drivers myself i had a 6200 geforce b4....,Ocmurf what drivers do you recommened mate...? ty i advnce..

    come on guys i need help getting this system running how it should which driver should i DL could sum1 give me a direct link..? and a step by step on how to install cuz i havnt got a clue when it comes to ATI...please...this has been doing my nut for days now..many thnx Michael.

    give Catalyst AGP Hotfix - Radeon HD 4000 Radeon HD 3000 and Radeon HD 2000 Series AGP products a shot.

    That card supports shader model 4 and directx 10 and 11. If i was you, i would consider upgrading to Windows 7, as xp only supports up to Shader model 3 and Directx 9.0c which maybe the reason for your unsmooth gameplay.

    Again, im not sure, nvidia guy.
