Hey there
as I am bored right now I want to give the newer players some tipps for the normal call of duty 4 multi player
Tip 1:
Optimize your config:
Open your ingame console (enable it in ESC => options => game options ) and type
for better gameplay it's good to have 125 or 250 steady fps, depending on how good (or bad) your graphic card you might not get 250 steady fps. First of all typeCode:/cg_drawfps 1
in your console. If you do not reach 125 steady fps now, try to lower your graphics (ESC => options => graphics)Code:/com_maxfps 125
Some more useful commands: COD4 Optimization and Pro configs
Tip 2:
Optimize your controls:
If you play with the default key controls you may want to change something. For example you can take your "mouse wheel up" as knife key, much faster than pressing "v". (therefore do ESC => options => controls)
you can change any key you want to the key you want until you're satisfied with it.
Tip 3:
Optimize your class:
There are many weapons and perks in cod4. Some are good, some are bad and some are just a matter of taste. However, these are the best weapons/perks without question:
Assault Class:
Ak-47 no-attachment
Deagle
Smoke
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Deep Impact
SpecOp Class
Ak-74u no-attachment
Deagle
Smoke
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Deep Impact
Demolition Class
Winchester1200 no-attachment
Deagle
Smoke
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Deep Impact
Sniper Class
M40A4/R700 no-attachment
Deagle
Smoke
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Deep Impact
Some explanations:
Why Bandolier?
-running out of ammo (especially deagle ammo) during a fight is - without a question - a very shitty situation
Why Stopping Power?
-you will notice that you'll kill your opponents much faster as you inflict more damage.
Why Deep Impact?
-You will inflict more damage by shooting through walls which can give the fleeing enemy the rest!
Why Smoke?
-In contrast to flashbangs (or gay stuns) you see, when you throw a smoke and it goes off, its effect. By throwing a flashbang, you cant be sure that you're opponent is still flashed when you come around the corner - if you rely on that you can be trapped easily.
M40A3 or R700?
-actually this is just a matter of taste but you might prefer the m40a3 for it's slightly better accuarcy and less recoil.
Why no attachment?
-there's a very simple reason:
->RedDotSight: on these guns the redDotSight is either useless (winchester) or totally ruins your aim (ak-47/aku)
->Acog: totally ruins your aim on any gun
->Silencer: Reduces your range and you may not succeed in killing an enemy that you would have killed without silencer.
->GranadeLauncher: This attachment is also known as "noobtube"...any questions?
All in all these 4 classes are the most deadliest ones in cod4 ofc with best weapons and perks.
Tip 4
Optimize your gameplay:
Once you are well equipped, everything what's missing is getting aim and experience. I cant tell you much about getting experience apart from playing this game but nevertheless you can learn how to aim.
1st:
Play on softcore servers only, like the fps public server. You can disable hardcore servers in your cod4 server filter
2nd:
Play as much s&d as you can. S&d also helps you to improve your aim but also to survive longer.
3rd:
When you play with automatic weapons and you're shooting on an enemy that's farer away, shoot in firing bursts off ca 2-5 bullets. That means you releasing your left mouse button after 2-5 bullets, wait a little bit (less than a second) and then press it again. You will notice that the recoil wont affect your aim so much now.
4th:
Shoot enemy through walls: When you see an enemy hiding behind a wall simply shoot through it, dont go around the corner and try to get him from the front, just a risk you can avoid
5th:
"Bunnyjump"...also some players say only noobs "bunnyjump" this is actually a real pro thing. By jumping around corners or towards an enemy, you give him less chance to kill you.
6th:
Avoid strat-nades...you might have noticed already that whenever you play s&d nades will catch you on your way to the enemy's side. Study the nade impact areas, avoid these and throw some nades yourself in that areas. I promise you will get some people with that nades!
7th:
Switch to your deagle... when you're fighting an enemy and run out of bullets with your primary gun, take out your deagle (or a secondary gun you might have picked up) and blow him to hell! Much faster than reloading!
8th:
look on your minimap to spot enemies (red dots)
9th:
Change your position after you've shot or killed some1 because other enemies see your position on their minimap too
10th:
Dont reload too fast, for example you killed an enemy and still got 20 bullets left in your gun, it's safer to wait 1 or 2 moments so nearby enemies dont kill you while reloading.
So far
cabry
