Thread: Can you run it? results

I tried my computer to see if i could run cod4. I have 2 laptops a Sony Vaio NS-series running on windows vista and a HP G56 Notebook PC running on windows 7 all original with no upgrades. My Vaio only has a Video card problem.My HP i still have not tried but i will update on it later.

I also have a Dell Dimension 5150 which I have had for 5 or more years. I checked minimum and the video card was the only problem

The only video card problem was

Pixel shader version 3.0
vertex shader version 3.0

I don't see why minimum settings are a problem when there all OK.

My Dell runs on Windows XP. When I try single player just when it zooms in on the S.A.S base after loading intro it freezes and either goes turns blue or just stops there.

Online doesn't work either so if its not the system spec's please tell me if you have any fix to this

are you getting a blue screen of death? if so download whocrashed and it will tell you what is crashing and that can lead to a fix. your graphics card may not have enough power to support the game try getting a 1gb graphics card

Did a quick test on the HP the results are as follows
CPU Recommended: 2.4 GHz dual core or better You Have: AMD Athlon(tm) II P320 Dual-Core Processor
Thats the only problem with the minimum and recommended

seems alright if i got an upgrade on it if i could any idea's?

well my first recommendation would be... get a desktop and lose the laptop for gaming unless its a purpose built gaming laptop. desktops are alot easier to modify are alot more powerful screens are bigger keyboard is easier to use... the list goes on.

also you might try overclocking it to 2.4ghz... i dont know if you can or how well laptops take to overclocking but its worth a shot.

I say ive just about given up on the old dell dimension tbh its old like another year or 2 it may be obselete it may be already damn old desktops

Its probably my budget if i can find the parts cheap enough in euro. Just the building part confuses me^.^

That would work but keep in mind that's that article is form 2009, older parts probably much cheaper now if they are still being sold. If you post a catalog or website that you'll be buying parts and give a budget I'm sure you'll get a couple nice theoretical systems from us . AS for building it's really pretty easy to do, just think of it as Lego with big pieces.

if you let us know your budget we could probably find you a damn good computer online. mine was about 800$ off newegg shipped overseas to korea. before shipping it was only like 650 which i believe is in the 4-500 euro range
and i run cod at max settings
just let us know your budget
